Dr. Dina Mohamed

Assistant Lecturer of Psychiatry, Cairo University.

Dr. Dina Mohamed is an Assistant Lecturer of Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine of Cairo University.

Dr. Dina received basic clinical training at the Adult psychiatry Unit as well as the Addiction, Geriatrics, Liaison, Child and Adolescents Units at the Psychiatry Department of Cairo University.

Her psychotherapeutic experience from 2006 until 2009 entailed official personal training in individual psychotherapy as a part of the residency training program in Psychiatry.

Between 2008 and 2009 she also had Group Therapy experience as a co-therapist with Professor Yehia El Rakhawy and later training in Matrix Groups for addiction.

Dr. Dina also had extensive training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), Pittsburgh, PA, USA. There, as part of her academic program she covered Principles of Genetic Counseling in Magee Women’s Hospital. Her clinical training included Autism Diagnostic and Observation Schedule Evaluation at the Merck Outpatient Clinic, Managing Psychiatric Patients at the Hill Recovery House and the Western Psychiatric Institute (WPIC).

She currently works in Genetic Research in Psychiatric Disorders in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh, USA. After accomplishing the first phase of a research project in genetics of Autism in Egyptian children, which was the first of a kind in Egypt, Dr. Dina was chosen to mentor other students on the same grant in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Dina participated also in the UNICEF project for street children in Egypt.

Aside from her clinical practice, Dr. Dina is interested in the disorders of children and adolescents including behavioral problems, ADHD and Autism. Dr. Dina’s secondary interest lies in adult psychiatry including management of Bipolar Disorders, OCD and Individual Psychotherapy.
