Dr. Ahmed El Ray
Professor & Consultant of Hepato-Gastro-Enterology
Dr. Ahmed El Ray is a Professor and Consultant of Hepatology and Gastroenterology at the Theodor Bilharz Research Institute and the Faculty of Medicine, October 6 University. He is a senior specialist in the diagnosis and management of liver diseases and gastrointestinal disorders, with extensive academic and clinical experience.
Dr. El Ray obtained both his Master’s and Doctorate degrees from the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University. As part of his international medical training in France, he earned the University Diploma in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy from Paris University and was awarded a Fellowship from Paris University, reflecting advanced expertise in digestive endoscopy and modern GI practice.
In addition to his clinical and academic roles, Dr. El Ray serves as the Coordinator of a medical cooperation agreement between research institutes and faculties of medicine in Egypt and France, contributing to international collaboration in medical education and research.
The French Ambassador awarded him the Knight Academic Medal (La Médaille Académique de Chevalier) in appreciation of his scientific activity and achievements in the field of cooperation and research between Egypt and France. The medal was presented to him in a ceremony at the French Embassy on May 24, 2022.
