
Dr. Cherif Zaazou
Professor of Ophthalmology, Cairo University
Dr. Cherif Zaazou is a Professor of Ophthalmology at Cairo University and former Vice President of the Kasr Al Ainy Eye Bank. He is currently running the glaucoma clinic at the International Eye Hospital and serving as Head of the Ophthalmology Department at Dar Al-Fouad Hospital. Dr. Cherif is Fellow of the Oregon Eye Institute, USA and Member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Cherif is highly specialized in anterior segment surgery, which includes minimally invasive cataract surgery with implantation of soft injectable intra ocular lenses, laser correction for errors of refraction and corneal transplantation; either total or lamellar transplantation. Dr. Cherif has vast experience in managing resistant glaucoma cases with special interest in valve implantation for reduction of intra ocular pressure which is a devise implanted on the surface of the eye to control the intra ocular pressure in resistant cases after failure of ordinary surgical procedures.
