Dr. Cherif Zaazou
Professor of Ophthalmology, Cairo University
Dr. Cherif Zaazou is a Professor of Ophthalmology at Cairo University and former Vice President of the Kasr Al Ainy Eye Bank. He currently leads the Glaucoma Clinic at the International Eye Hospital and serves as Head of the Ophthalmology Department at Dar Al-Fouad Hospital.
He is a Fellow of the Oregon Eye Institute, USA, and a Member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Zaazou specializes in anterior segment surgery, including minimally invasive cataract surgery with soft injectable intraocular lens implantation, laser vision correction for refractive errors, and corneal transplantation (full-thickness and lamellar techniques).
Dr. Zaazou has extensive experience in the management of complex and resistant glaucoma cases, with a special focus on glaucoma valve implantation to reduce intraocular pressure in patients who do not respond to conventional surgical treatments.
