Dr. Hisham Shokeir
Professor of Dermatology at the National Institute of Laser Enhanced Sciences (NILES), Cairo University
Dr. Hisham Shokeir is a Professor of Dermatology at the National Institute of Laser Enhanced Sciences (NILES), Cairo University, and one of the region’s pioneers in laser dermatology. He has been utilizing laser technology in the treatment of skin diseases since 1994 and served as Dean of NILES from 2008 to 2011.
Dr. Shokeir completed postdoctoral laser training at the University of Regensburg, Germany, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Michael Landthaler. His areas of expertise include the laser treatment of vascular and pigmented skin lesions, hair reduction for both women and men, facial rejuvenation, post-acne scarring, warts and benign skin lesions, as well as tattoo removal.
He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Egyptian Journal of Dermatology and Venereology (ETDV), the European Society of Dermatology and Venereology (ESDV), and the European Society for Laser Dermatology (ESLD). Dr. Shokeir also serves as Vice President of the Egyptian Afro-Asian Society of Cosmetic Dermatology and Laser (EASCOL).
Dr. Shokeir has chaired, spoken at, and conducted training sessions in numerous national and international laser conferences and workshops, and has authored many scientific publications in the field of laser dermatology.
