Dr. Rasha Ammar
Consultant of Pediatrics
Dr. Rasha Ammar is a Consultant Pediatrician and Professor of Pediatrics at Kasr El Ainy School of Medicine, Cairo University. She graduated in 1994, obtained her Master’s degree in Pediatrics in 1998, and earned her MD in Pediatrics in 2001. Over the years, she has developed extensive expertise in neonatology and general pediatrics.
Driven by a strong commitment to pediatric cardiac care, Dr. Ammar became a primary operator in echocardiography and cardiac catheterization laboratories in 2001 and co-founded the first cardiomyopathy clinic in the Middle East in 2002. She is also an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) since 2005, reflecting her holistic approach to infant and maternal health.
In 2012, she was promoted to Professor of Pediatrics at Cairo University, and in September 2016, she was appointed Director of Cairo University Children’s Hospital (Abu El Reesh – El Mounira). Dr. Ammar is widely published and cited internationally and regularly represents Egypt as a speaker and faculty member at leading international pediatric conferences.
Dr. Ammar believes that a pediatrician’s role extends beyond medical treatment—to being a trusted partner for mothers, easing concerns, and providing guidance throughout the journey of motherhood.
